Human translations for humans
I am a human who translates for humans.
Not for businesses, hospitals, governments or law firms. For humans.
I translate for the human who wears happy socks underneath their doctor’s coat as their only way of self-expression, and who wants to take a relaxing moment during their break to research their next holiday destination. I translate for the human who drives home wondering if they defended none other than the devil at court, and who looks forward to distracting their mind with an immersive video game or fantasy book. I translate for the human whose ears are ringing after spending their day teaching children, and who has to spend their evening learning how to work with the new smart technology their school just introduced. I translate for the human who wants to feel happy about a new product they just bought and for the human who struggles with their health management and feels in dire need of clear information.
I translate for humans in their role as human, because humans deserve to feel like humans in all aspects of their lives.
I do this by striving to provide translations that are moving, enjoyable and interesting to read, in line with the author’s original purpose, and in all cases, free of mistakes – both in grammar and content. I want readers, listeners, players, users, patients and students to take in the words without having to wonder if they are reading what the author meant for them to read or whether they are having the experience which the author meant for them to have.
